Welcome to Advance College of Education

Advance College is an independent school, specialising in Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) - providing high quality, innovative learning and development opportunities.

We cater for students between 15 and 18 years of age, with the three levels of VCAL - Foundation, Intermediate and Senior at our three campuses across the Mornington Peninsula; Rosebud, Hastings and Mornington.

Advance College provides:
  • a broad curriculum catering for individual needs and aspirations;
  • significantly greater levels of support to students 'at risk' of disengaging from education and learning;
  • extra staff and resources for career development, health and well-being; and
  • a wide range of opportunities for students in learning and their vocational pathways.
Advance College assists each young person to achieve the best educational outcome possible through quality learning and inclusive teaching practices.

Students will have the opportunity to enrol in a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) program to achieve a VET Certificate in either Horticulture or Hospitality and earn a weekly income.

Advance College provides an alternative, education setting to mainstream school, with a strong emphasis on supporting students in pathways to employment or further education and training.

Answers to FAQ's:
  • There is no school uniform
  • Attendance is Monday to Thursday, 9.30am - 2.30pm
  • Breakfast is available for students, at no cost, between 8.45am and 9.15am
  • Fridays are VET (doing a Certificate course) or Work Placement days
  • Public transport is available to all campuses
  • VCAL is full time and satisfies Centrelink requirements
  • School Fees - (all levels): $250 or $50 concession (Payment plans are available)
  • SBAT fees are $700 per course or $140 concession (Payment plans are available)
