It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Wright, CEO of Advance Community College and Principal of Advance College of Education.
Steve was more than a leader—he was inspiring, a mentor, and a passionate advocate for education. His dedication to empowering students, supporting staff, and strengthening our community has left an enduring mark on the wider community. His warmth, integrity, and commitment inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His open-door leadership style, calm wisdom, and unwavering dedication made him a trusted guide and a cherished colleague. He was known not only for his accomplishments, but for his kindness, down-to-earth nature, and ability to bring out the very best in others.
As we mourn this tremendous loss, we also honour the remarkable legacy Steve leaves behind—one defined by service, compassion, and a lifelong belief in alternative education and community involvement.
